Born in 1880 in Bellary, Raghava was drawn to the theatre in his youth and joined the drama companies of the age, rising rapidly by his extraordinary talent. He became the leading actor of the Kannada and Tamil stages, playing the great roles — from mythological heroes to historical figures — with a power that held audiences spellbound.
