धोती-कुर्ता
The dhoti — an unstitched five-yard drape — is perhaps the oldest garment still worn on Earth. Paired with the kurta, it has been the classic dress of men from village of Bhārat farmers to Mahatma Gandhi, who made its hand-spun khadi the uniform of freedom.
Salwar Kameez
सलवार कमीज़
The salwar kameez — loose trousers, a long tunic, and a flowing dupatta — is the everyday dress of millions of women of Bhārat. In Punjab it was born; across Bhārat it became the perfect blend of comfort, modesty, and grace.
Sherwani
शेरवानी
The sherwani — a long coat with a high collar and gold buttons — is Bhārat's grand formal dress. Born in the Mughal court and worn by leaders and grooms ever since, it is the most elegant outfit men of Bhārat own.
The Turban
पगड़ी
The turban — pagdi, safa, or dastar — is Bhārat's headwear of honour, tied fresh each morning from metres of cloth. From the rulers of Rajasthan to the farmers of Punjab, it is a living symbol of dignity, pride, and identity.
One land. Endless wonders.
