The Story
Magnetic Hill is a 'gravity hill' — a place where the surrounding slopes are arranged so cleverly that a slight downhill gradient appears to be uphill. The illusion is so complete that cars left in neutral genuinely roll 'up', gathering surprising speed.
It is the same trick played by similar spots around the world — including Gujarat's Kalo Dungar — but here, framed by the vast brown Ladakh landscape, the effect feels genuinely supernatural. Many visitors are convinced a magnetic force is pulling their vehicle.
